Pai Nosso (Our Father)

Galera, alguns alunos têm me pedido pra ensinar o Pai Nosso em inglês. Embora não seja a minha praia, pesquisei e taí pra quem quiser aprender, ok?! ;*

Our Father (Pai Nosso)

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Pai-Nosso que estais no céu

Hallowed be Thy Name,
Santificado seja o Vosso nome

Thy Kingdom come,
Venha a nós o Vosso reino

Thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven.
Seja feita a Vossa vontade, assim na terra como no céu.

Give us this day our daily bread,
O pão nosso de cada dia nos dai hoje

and forgive us our trespasses,
perdoai as nossas ofensas

as we forgive those who trespass against us.
assim como nós perdoamos a quem nos tem ofendido

And lead us not into temptation,
E não nos deixeis cair em tentação

but deliver us from evil.
mas livrai-nos do mal

Amen
Amém

Adverbs of Manner X Adjectives

ADVÉRBIOS DE MODO x ADJETIVOS
Assim como em português os adjetivos acompanham substantivos e os advérbios acompanham verbos, adjetivos e outros advérbios.

Adjetivo + Substantivo
She isn’t a good driver.
I’m a patient person.
It’s a fast car.
Geralmente os advébios de modo são formados a partir dos adjetivos acrescido de ly.
Patient – Paciently
Careful – Carefully
Simple – Simply  (sem “e”)
Happy – Happily (“y” precedido de consoante vira “i”)
Fantastic – Fantastically (terminando em “ic”, acrescentamos “ally”) *Exceção: Public - Publicy

Irregulares:
Good – Well
Fast – Fast
Ex:
She doesn't drive well.
She drives fast.

*Alguns advérbios possuem duas formas e os significados também são diferentes.

Adjective                  Adverb                               Adverb
Hard                             Hard                            Hardly (raramente)
Deep                        Deep (lugar)                Deeply (sentimento)
Most                            Most                            Mostly (geralmente)
Near                            Near                                  Nearly (quase)
High                      High (altura)                 Highly (em auto grau)
Late                             Late                            Lately (igual a recently)
